4 year cycle lows: august 1982 sept 1986 oct 1990 nov-dec 1994 dec98-jan99????? The summation index turned down on July 20th from the trendline off the August/October peaks. We should hit that line on Monday. Beara sezs it ain't over, till beara sezs so. LG, one thing to pay careful attention to using advance decline based oscillators is that sometimes they get so overbought that they indicate a breadth thrust condition in the market where the oscillator can come back all the way to zero or whatever while at the same the market keeps chugging up. I don't think we are quite that strong yet, but we have reached strengths that are usually seen towards the end of the four year corrective process. Vitas

LG, There are all kinds of shades of gray in TA. The black and whiters are the ones who have a rigid system and stick to them regards... I understand some of them make good money. What I am leading up to is that if you have a plethora (egad I love that word) of indicators and plenty of indices to use them upon, you almost HAVE to be more gray than black and white! For example, if you can, try that old A/D function on VIX... boy will YOU get a surprise! Bill PS - That combo ALSO says a sell-off is coming. And thanks for sharing!!!
