George,

<<Boucher said he does not expect to see FC ramp as much as prognosticators have predicted and hinted at alternative solutions down the road.>>

I understand that Mr. Boucher is a founder/ principal of a silicon valley start up company called Alacritech. Someone mentioned that they are working on technology that has to do with SCSI over ethernet and would benefit if fibre channel is not widely adopted. ADPT has a technology license with Alacritech. Is anyone here familiar with what this company may be working on ?

George,

The industry pros are predicting flat growth for the networking sector as a whole through 1999 and not just FC. They cite Y2K crisis aversion as the dampening effect for expansion. FC is still on track to be a winner despite the continued developments of SCSI, etc. Given recent developments with Ancor, I don't think going-concern issues will ever again need to be raised, at least for the foreseeable future. IMO, ANCR is a stock for patient investors.
