Hey, Jim...

We took off across the heartland...went thru Kansas and Missouri, saw the arch in St. Louis....boy is it big...couldn't help but wonder what that thang would do in an earthquake....headed up to Ohio where the Amish have staked out some of the most beautiful land in the country, I think. Wanted to stop and bug Redhead but she had fled to California...made the mistake of telling her I was coming.

Went up to Buffalo where those big waterfalls are and picked up the husband unit at the airport; we were struck how easy it would be to hop over a little fence at Horseshoe Falls and have a cold, wild ride...back thru NY and PA again...great leaves...great vineyards...back to Ohio, where my husband wanted to have a t-shirt made that said, "Don't hassle me, I'm Amish," but he was all talk.

Then down thru KY to Nashville to see an old college roommate....next, Huntsville, Ala, to take the kids to the Space Museum. There is a ride there that will scare your socks off--called the Space Shot. They zoom you way up there really fast, then drop you, where your're freefalling for awhile, and your bohunkus isn't even on the seat...yikes! Think the 9 year old may need therapy...

Then thru some southern coastal states....one of 'em, which shall remain nameless, had yellow water coming from the taps...they claimed it was their mineralized artesian well water...didn't like that too much. On to Texas to see the in-laws and out-laws before coming back to Colo. I think I've got the wanderlust out of my system for awhile, but it was fun tearing across the country again. Ind, Ill, Oh, Pa, and NY were showing off their colors in a big way...it was really pretty. And there ya have it. Now I just have to pick up the pieces of my portfolio, but when you're lost on a turnpike in PA and supposed to be in Ohio, it's easy to forget those sad stocks....
