Dave,

Maybe we could petition Court TV to cover the Ericy/Qualcomm proceedings....next best thing to being there. This whole thing is shaping up to be one interesting fight. But why do I have this nagging feeling(in my shoe) that Ericy is going to back out at the last minute and announce some sort of face saving licensing deal with the Q??

No kidding, Dave. My point was that it is absurd to talk about a victory in the 3g war without discussing comparative growth rates and potential IP disputes.

Official headline was this (and no, sorry, I don't have any way of linking to it.)

"3G IPR war begins, but does 2g technology proliferation already make it moot?"

A few other tidbits:

"We also anticipate an onslaught of rhetoric from Qualcomm over the next six months as W-CEDMA appears to be gaining momentum."

"With more than 85% of current subscribers using TDMA/GSM, we believe that momentum clearly rests with W-CDMA, compared to 16 million customer base for cdmaOne."

"With roughly 40% of overall infrastructure market share, we believe ERICY is well-positioned as a leader in the 3g process."
