Many large corporations still have mixed environment, they not only have many Windows machines, they have a lot of UNIX machines as well. When those companies choose software, they would like to have a consistent base so their IT people don't need to deal with/support multiple browsers. I think that is the reason MSFT developed IE for UNIX, it is a part of the whole package that offered to those large companies. I don't think that MSFT targets IE for UNIX to those UNIX shops only companies, in there, they really has no money to earn. But for other companies who want to upgrade Win3.1/Win95 to Win98/WinNT, they would like their UNIX machines using the same or similar browser that is in Windows OS.
