It's relatively clear to me based upon my conversations with IR and Markman's public position that there is really no "news" to report. GM will not release subscriber numbers, even at a conf call, and will not discuss how things are going. So, absent the hyped up carrier "news" everyone dreams about there is really nothing to say except what GM has been saying- that whatever is going on is occurring at the anticipated pace. Regarding carrier alliances, GM has repeatedly stated that they do not expect any such "announcements" until early 1999. April is early 1999 and so is January. My take on earnings postponement is that the road show excuse is lame and that other rosey views expressed here-synchronizing with the conversion period-are also reaching. The SEC gives you 45 days after quarter close to report and Sept 11 is the last Wednsesday in that 45 day period (45th day would be Saturday the 14th.) I am a long run holder bracing for a strong wind chill on the 11th.
