<<I think this product was a long time coming - but with proper positioning it can position PAIR to explode and become a wall street darling again>>

Sandman, you are 110% correct. I believe this is what Chuckles was getting at in the CC. He was clearly trying to direct the analysts to focus on where PAIR is going, while reminding them of their past tremendous successes. He emphasized: 1) "very optimistic about overall business perspective and that the pricing competition is not reflective of their entire business line" 2) "T1/E1 is not their pre-occupation like the market believes" 3) "the Avidia Platform is a defining system and differentiator for PAIR". Now, add this to the latest press release RE company repositioning and one gets a pretty clear signal that they are clearly in tune with what fast-moving customers (CLECs, ILECs, and ISPs) want - a single ADSL solution. At the same time, they continue to court the RBOCs to rollout their HDSL and ADSL products.

I am convinced PAIR will repeat their past stellar performance and again demonstrate their technical leadership in xDSL.

Good luck to all. Go PAIR!

<<IMO it may have even held back the DSL deployment at USWest etc.>>

That and USWest's internal debate between investing in high-speed internet access via cable vs. phone.

Also, I truly believe the RBOCs took a slower approach because ADSL standards were not in place. As of last week, we now have BOTH full-scale ADSL and G.Lite standards.

<<with volume shipment in Dec '98. This product will add a bundle to PAIRs bottomline>>

Chuck is expecting the Avidia Platform to bring in $50M in 99.
