Michelle,

This is a followup to your post concerning AMAT on the ORCL thread.

Your comments got me to thinking that perhaps there's two ways to look at the AMAT changeover from SAP to ORCL/i2.

1. If indeed the benefits of i2 were a driving factor in the deal, then it is clearly good for ORCL and i2.
2. It could be viewed poorly, however, if one interprets the deal as "i2 doesn't work well with SAP." If a company must throw out SAP to get to i2, well... I just don't like that scenario.

It will be interesting going forward to watch for implementations of Rhythm on R/3. I didn't hear that addressed in the CC. The general impression I had was that implementing i2 w/ SAP wasn't impossible, but it was more complicated.

Can anyone on the thread add input to this?

Thanks,

Shane
