SYD PRESS RELEASE AND COMMENTS

Good evening to you all. Please find enclosed the latest press release from Sideware Systems. The release is self-explanatory and represents a very meaningful step forward for SYD and its Dr. Bean product.

The two most significant excerpt from the press release are as follows:

"The two-month test period begins in November. Once this phase is complete, commercial shipping of Dr. Bean will commence in January 1999."

"Judging by the response Dr. Bean received at our demonstrations at Internet World, there are a number of companies prepared to integrate this product to their e-commerce site as a pilot." (Owen Jones)

We are very pleased with the progress of Sideware Systems to date. Today's announcement clearly demonstrates the company is on the verge of generating meaningful revenues from its Dr. Bean product, commencing in the new year.
To this end, shareholders will remember comments made in the SYD corporate update, in which it was stated:

"Based on this fundamental progress, the company is very comfortable in conservatively forecasting revenues of $10,000,000, on a regional level, over the next 18 months. This type of forecast represents a divergence from previous SYD updates in which the company was unwilling to make any forecasts.
However, the company now believes that all the necessary parts are now in place for making such an announcement."

Keep in mind these comments were made prior to signing its e-commerce agreement with SAIC Corp.

Further details with respect to companies involved in the test phase can not be released at this time.

In addition, SYD also announced the release of Net Notions 2.0 this afternoon.

That is all for now.

Have a good evening.

Regards,
Agora Internet Relations Corp.

SIDEWARE BEGINS CUSTOMER TESTING OF DR.BEAN E-BUSINESS SOLUTIONS

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - OCTOBER 27, 1998

Vancouver, BC - Sideware Systems Inc. (VSE symbol: SYD) has identified a number of clients to begin beta testing of its revolutionary e-commerce, customer service software, Dr. Beanä. The two-month test period begins in November. Once this phase is complete, commercial shipping of Dr. Bean will commence in January 1999.

Dr. Bean is a value-added product that can be integrated with IBM middleware products, like DB2, Net.Commerce and Websphere to create e-commerce solutions. For instance, when Dr. Bean is integrated with Net.Commerce, the customer service representative (CSR) can view the customer's shopping history. Companies can use Dr. Bean to deliver live, personalized customer service over the Internet from their own e-commerce site. This innovative product, written in 100% Java, adds interactive exchange to Internet web sites enabling companies to personalize a customer's purchase experience at their sites. E-commerce CSRs equipped with Dr. Bean can take control of customers' browsers and lead them through web pages on a guided tour, or follow them to assess their purchasing interests. With a single mouse click, customers can access and "chat" with a live CSR about sales specials, alternate products, shipping or any other service questions.

"Dr. Bean is an innovative e-commerce customer service tool that is changing how companies respond to their customers," said Owen Jones, CEO of Sideware. "Judging by the response Dr. Bean received at our demonstrations at Internet World, there are a number of companies prepared to integrate this product to their e-commerce site as a pilot. It is the ideal solution for e-commerce sites that require any sort of real-time customer service."
