What's a Nuon??

VM LABS CHRISTENS PROJECT X, MOVES TO NEW HQ
....................the final name of VM Labs' Project X technology.
Nuon, as the digital video/game platform shall henceforth be
known, was chosen because, in the words of branding firm Lexicon, it
"communicates brilliant graphics and space-age technology." Lexicon,
chosen by VM Labs to come up with a name for Project X, says the word
has scientific associations with subatomic particle muon, noble gas
neon, the concept "new...in the sense of innovative," and the word on,
"in contrast to off." We kid you not. We prefer: "Nuon: it sounds
better than Dreamcast."
Nuon's natty logo (see it at nuon-tech.com), is
designed by The Beeline Group, which designs software packaging and
artwork for several game companies and was responsible for early Atari
cabinet design. The logo will appear on VM Labs-enhanced hardware,
packaging and ads.
In other news, VM Labs yesterday moved to a newly designed
building in Mountain View, CA, to accommodate a growing payroll.
