Begging pardon, Jeff, the government I vote and pay for MUST lie to me, 'cause I'm a sheep?

Can you run that by me one more time, the first time struck me just a tad on the arrogant and scary side.

Oh, and in case you agree with this fellow lurker of yours, perhaps you'd like to spend some quality time under some cozy dictatorship?

Cheers,

Svejk

Jeff, I would second that. John K. is very bright and a tough hombre, or he would never have been asked to do this mostly thankless job. He is a straight-shooter who is reluctant to use every "bullet" in his belt at this time, mainly out of concern that more frank comments could cause an over-reaction. Bear in mind, however, that while he is the leader of the Fed's Y2K effort, he is also an "employee" (and a loyal one at that) who takes orders from above, so it's not like he can just shoot from the hip, etc. It's an awesome responsibility, and John may well end up as the Admin's scapegoat if and when things don't go well, but from what I know of the guy from working with him, I suspect that, if that time comes, he will play that role with equal dignity! ggg.
