You might want to try dropping the resolution down a notch too. I am using 1280x1024 on a 21 P815. The monitor and card have higher resolution capabilities but I was not comfortable with the higher resolutions for Internet applications. For graphics applications I bump up the resolution.

I am not sure the TV analogy applies. Graphics images get smaller with higher resolutions...same image occupies a smaller space with better definition...you get more images on the screen with the higher resolution. Some things like text are created on the fly. I experiment with the font sizes in the browser settings until I find one I like.
