it's just timing the point where it's sold is the knotty part.

That seems to be the point with almost all approaches, isn't it?
Kinda like my +1200 point TICK movement rule. It will define a 10 point move from the next high......there is the rub....where the heck is the next high. Work's like a charm most of the time.....but so what...I have no way of defining the next high. So in terms of a trading system, it is useless. In terms of giving clues as to market direction, I still like it.

Not saying the fading gap concept is the Holy Grail, but I kinda like what I saw in my initial examination. I had heard this before, but it took Tom stating it yesterday for it to hit home to the point where I actually looked at it. I wish to study it a bit further to see if I can define some rules within the rule.....
