Gregg -- regarding : come to Naples and club me in the head

Hurricane Mitch may come to Naples and "club us on the head." (And, no electricity and cable TV, just in time for Qualcomm's earnings release (?))

Jon.

Gregg,

QC stock turned up the second your comments on Tim Luke was posted. The power of SI and the web never ceases to amaze me. I still find it hard to believe that Lehman could move the stock so much, especially when it wasn't even a Kurlak or Cohen style major release. Not meaning to insult Tim Luke, I don't think he carries the same punch, right or wrong, as the aforementioned.

I'd prefer Wall St. to have lower expectations of Q up until Nov. 3, and then be blindsided by blowout 1/4 numbers; rather than have the stock killed because it couldn't keep up with runaway whisper numbers.

Last 1/4 the numbers surprise ran the price up 9 points; that works for me.

Gregg, thanks for the first hand report on Tim Luke's reasoning. Do you see Telefonica's decision to go with cdmaOne/LU infrastructure as confirmation that operators (even GSM/TDMA operators) are not buying the Ericy FUD, and see IS-95 B,C, HDR, cdma2000 as the most viable option for greenfield systems?

Regards,
Jim

PS. If they come after you in Naples, just send them across Alligator Alley and up to Jupiter. I'll be waiting in line to get my lumps <g>.

Gregg, I would be happy to make a day trip from the Space Coast and supply what ever 'adjustment' you feel is appropriate.

I think Q will still meet or beat number, but I dont think it will overwhelm.

Hey Gregg i just returned from a Bell Atlantic store in Manhatten. In the store I was told that BAM cancelled it's order of Q phone(-dual mode) phone's. He said they were un happy with the handoff ability between Anbalog and Digital. Are you aware of this problem? Is anyone else aware of it? Is anyone aware of any problem's on the west coast with the ATI phones? This could be a major bombshell, and could be the reason for conservitive tone of CC and Jacob's. If BAM pick's Startac and doesn't sell Q-flip it will be very ominious. If someone is on west coast could you ask ATI if they are selling, and if they are happy with quality. I am going to try to go to different store's and see what's up.
