Robin, it is pointless to try to engage gc in a meaningful discussion. I don't think he knows what PeopleSoft publishes, I don't think he can read a balance sheet or income statement, and I don't think he has any idea of what ERP software is. If you look at his posts, not one of them that contains some sort of opinion on PSFT is supported by any sort of data or analysis of data. When challenged he will tell you that charts never lie. This fellow is a fraud, and an insufferable fraud. He is not worth your time.

TTFN,
CTC

Everyone,

I just got thru my last class for the day. What a long day!

I'd like to make a minor correction to my last post. When I stated "Just ask Mr. Andrew Vance, Steven Messina, Mark Nass, jd, and other old-timers(including myself) who once used to own...", the phrase "other old-timers" refers to those who has had experience in Shawn Murphy's mastermind scheme regarding Y2K hype with Consygen Inc. about two years ago.

Mr. treetopflier, when I stated that I was(and still am) betting my blouse on PSFT not going below 18 support level, it was a figure of speech. So don't get too excited. :) If you would like to make a bet with me, here are the terms:

Robin's Victory Condition: PSFT's bid price will not be below 18 (even for just a moment) for any reason whatsoever until November 30th, 1998 4:00pm Eastern Time.

treetopflier's victory condition: The bid price of PSFT drops below 18 for any reason whatsoever at anytime before 4:00pm(eastern time), November 30, 1998.

This bet is effective upon mutual agreement by both members of the party(treetopflier and Robin Kistner only. Nobody else) before Saturday 6pm(eastern time), October 31. After the victor is established, the loser shall mail a crisp $10 bill in a regular 3 5/8" x 6 1/2" envelope to the winner of the bet via mail.

To jd: If you are reading this, I guess this would be a good indication for you to buy PSFT. With my birthday coming up, please get my age correct. I am one year younger than you think. :)

Auf Wiedersehn!

Robin

Robin, You are absolutely right about the effects of the posts on small cap stock. But, I am not sure this has been the case for psft. There are so many bulls on this thread (Dr. CTC, Raptor, Mellisa...etc) constantly bombarded the thread with positive spins and then, as you know, the stock continued its decent from 50's to low 20's.

I had been a long time bull on this stock. I turned bearish in April and predicted that it would go to 35 when it was just about to descend. It hovered at 40's for a few weeks. No one on this thread would believe that it would go to 35. (I am not pounding my chest here. I just try to point out that even the stock seems to have stablized here, I am not really sure we have seen its bottom.)

Now we are at low 20's. Where are we heading from here? I think in short term, you are absolutely right, we have established a strong support at 18+ and a resistance at 25. It will need a major news to move this stock out of this range. The question is: Is this forthcoming news more likely to be a good one or a bad one? I tend to believe it would be a bad one. The reason is simple: software company and industry as a whole tends to have a greater inertia than other industry. It would take some time to turn around its momentum if it can be turned around at all. There are plenty of examples you can look at. IFMX, Sybase, PMTC, etc.

Back in April, I advised people on this thread to dump psft and to buy DELL. I have been right so far. I recently doubled my position in DELL. PE (of DELL) does not scare me. The business momentum (of psft) does. Momentum moves stocks, not PE.

Good luck with your investing, and exams too. (I am not an expert in investing since I can't read income statement, but I am an expert in physics. I wish I could help you with your exams, instead <g>)

Best wishes,
gc
