The way I figured this out is to look at the raw html.
To do this with ie4 (other browsers must have a similar mechanism), select View from the menu, then Source. This opens up the post in notepad in all its html glory.

I'm not an html whizzo, but in theory you should be able to use any html edit codes to pretty up a post, though let's not get too carried away ;-)
