Back on the subject of potential competition...

ericsson.se

Ericsson will have late this year/early next year a GSM dispatch adjunct.

It is listed in this article as a 900/1800-based solution -- I am inquiring of my Ericsson contacts if a 1900-based solution is imminent.

In addition, it mentions "...specialized, rugged end-user terminals." -- certainly not in the league of the i1000.

My take [for what it's worth] is that IF Ericsson develops a 1900-based solution [not major difficulty if 900/1800 exist -- may actually only be a phone difference] then NXTL only has to fear the blue collar market. Furthermore, I don't believe there is a GSM [PCS1900] network in the US with as extensive coverage as NXTL has.
