Small caps roared back in 1991. Maybe we'll get one of those rallies again.

Remember that mutual funds have an October 31st window to sell stocks for a loss. I'm not sure if they are subject to a "wash rule" situation, but you could see a considerable increase in stocks that were savaged in the last decline in early October and are now not subject to the "selling pressure" from the funds.

This should favor the more illiquid thinly traded tech stocks as well as other small stocks.

For example from my own portfolio:

ASYT - +100% since 10/9/98
GALTF - +95% since 10/8/98
PMCS - +60% since 10/9/98
TXCC - +73% since 10/6/98
JBL - +100% since 8/31/98

Perhaps we can get the "January effect" on November this year.

Hi Tom- That's the increase in EGRP share price only. I didn't participate in that trip up because I was out of cash. Couldn't buy at the bottom like I should have, so the train pulled out of the station without me and I've had to wait for the next one! :-) I'm getting within sight of a sell, though, with 1+ point to go yet. EGRP has already warned that they're going to have negative earnings for 2 or 3 more qtrs. as they continue planned expenditures, so I don't expect a big rally here. Just hoping to get in a better range and catch a few trades on both sides.

I pulled ahead of 12/31/97 last week, so I've got a small profit for the year with a couple months to go. Things are definitely happier in Mudville these days. :-)

Been watching VTSS... what a trip THAT's been!! Nice goin' Tom!
