Joe,

I think that if we go to Mars, we need to do it in such a way that we stay there and not just go there a half dozen times and walk away. If we were still on the moon with say a moon base, we would probably be on Mars with people already. I think there is a lot of money to be made out there too. The moon would be great of low grav manufacturing things, like say growing silicon for wafers.
