OT I'm still more than a little amazed IBM has changed it's corporate mind
IBM has much more independance in it's divisions than it used to. I am not too surprised to see one group say the PC is dead while the PC group defends it. If they get too vocal Lou G. will hush them.

Yes T.R I believe it is Trigem from S.Korea, supposed to have 80% of the capabilities of a 'regular' PC. For what it is worth most likely these guys will be out of business sooner or later, for one thing there isn't much profit in it and second of all for a little more people can get a better deal these days and thirdly they do not offer anything else by way of high end products or anything like that to compensate for the any losses or supplement the small margin and lastly it is not that easy to penetrate the U.S market, the Japanese tried it look what happened to them.I could be wrong but that is what I am saying.

T.R., re:<<Isn't there a foreign competitor that recently announced it was going to enter that arena with a unit between $399 and $499?>>

Yes, it was a Korean company. Wonder when their pc's will hit the U.S. stores?

By the way, did you see where IBM is going to use their own processor? Interesting move on their part, IMO.
