All I can say is that I started as a fundamental analyst with a disdain for technical analysis, but my personal experience told me that I should respect the technicals. Over the years I've seen technicals work more accurately than fundamentals. Let me clearify this statement by saying that I still value fundamentals above technicals and that when there is a clear contradiction between the two I do not trade/invest in the company. But there is often wide range for the "fair price" of a company based on the fundamentals. The technicals are invaluable in such situations.

Day to day movements are meaningless most of the times. When they constitute a change in investor sentiment, they become significant.
