i hope someone has some wisdom to pass along... Seriously, if you are that far down and you are long, meaning a time horizon of 3-5 years it won't matter, PSFT, is not going to blow away and dry up although, growth has tapered a bit, they are still very much in business and 25-35% growth is very respectable.

resistance at $26 support at 19...

cheers

Well, It seems to me that if you're already down that much why not hang in there. At one point I was down 26 points on itwo. Now I'm only down around 18 or so. I don't know if that makes you feel any better but if you're down 20 points why sell now and then wish you hadn't.

The near term outlook of the group does not look good. It is now reaching the back side of the sales curve related to y2k compliant problem and market slows down and competition heats up. Longer term, I think it should be fine. The industry will consolidate and reinvent itself. But, it is still at least 1 - 2 years away. I would not buy here. In your case, it maybe difficult to take huge loss. If you can afford to put it away for 2 years or more, I would hold it here or trade part of the holding. Again, this is just one man's opinion and I am not an expert in investing and I don't know how to read income statement. <g>

have you ever seen the ad that some brokerage has that shows a zig zag chart
and asks you ....

do you buy here (shows the high point) and sell here (shows the low point)

many stocks are down 50% or more ... due to the general poor health ... the market correction caused.

this is one of them.

You could sell it here, but PSFT chart has bottomed with the reward:risk factor weighing heavily in favor of rewards much better than the risk.

I am a "bottom fisher" and have been following this stock since it's move the the (S&P500 ?)... I never did chase it back then.

You may have entered at/near that time .... during the run up, on a dip .... that turned out to be a new downtrend.

You should not worry about this investment .... it'll rebound back to former glory.

gosh! They even have earnings!

I have a short term target (few months) of 30 to 35 ... once it starts to move ... it will be one that others will be chasing again.

Good luck .... with your choice

Sue
