To all knowledgeables:
Any reason why I would be having a problem with new scans picking up my default Metastock template? I am using a ProcessMS = "e:\mydir",VMS; statement, and some of the charts come thru with the correct template, and others come thru with various different previous templates.
Thanks.

The database will take about 260 meg total.

Do you mean the diskbuff? Will it still be possible to put daily data on one drive and the diskbuff on another?

Thanks,

Brooke

Gary, Does it include any scan fixes?
The one that are most bothersome are
-Silently closing on some scans -- actually haven't seen as much of that as when this build first appeared -- maybe I'm becoming more defensive ;)
-a fixation with potential div by 0 in the prescan; e.g. the hoops required in this snippet,
--------
MFI1:= 0; MFI2:= 0; //precompiler-bug workaround ***************
if PosMF1 > 0 then //precompiler-bug workaround
MFI1:= 100 -100*NegMF1/(PosMF1 +NegMF1);
MFI2:= 100 -100*NegMF2/(PosMF2 +NegMF2);
endif;
---------
it's convinced that the denom is will be zero.
Wrapping the divs in an if ... endif fixes div by 0, but then the MFIs are undefined.

Why not have it stop such nonsense?
Bob

Gary,

An understatement:

The database will take about 260 meg total, there is no adjusting the size requirement right now, but the scans are quite a bit faster than before.

On a pokey 200 mhz P1 ~~

11 batch scans runtime prior to 10/12 dbase add items: 15 mins :))
Subsequently til betafix: 43 mins (-290%) :(
New Beta turbochief: 4 mins (+1100%) -- (net +375%) :))))))!!!

Only malfunction noted thus far, but a small price for the h.p., stochastic %Ds and RSI moving averages have vanished; only MACD ma triggers are immune. Install also wiped out all price ma presets in chart layouts, but were easily rebuilt.

Please advise on safe atmospheric reentry speeds. I'm prone to accidents; remember the 610 shuttle.

Over and out.

Craig

One of the fringe benefits of the new beta seems to be that multitasking works much better with scans now. I don't know whether that's because the disk buffer has been eliminated or what. But I do find that I can do a lot more now while scans are running. They just keep whirring in the background while I haunt the SI boards and scrutinze charts.

Thanks for all the improvements in the program.
