I'd be interested to hear as to whether or not the WAVE/HP, etc. announcement got much exposure, attention or notice at the Media Lab.

steve: i take it you are asking me this because of my profile? i hadn't updated that in over 2 years (i just did, now, though). i'm no longer at the media lab, but i have plenty of friends who are. i doubt that the recent announcement made a stir. how would they have known about it? scientists get their news from the same types of sources that investors do, in some senses. as we've all noticed, the mainstream press didn't say anything about EMBASSY. not even computer-specific sites like c|net picked up the story! unless the lab's hp sponsorship reps explicitly made a big deal about, i doubt there was any exposure to this agreement at the media lab, at all.

But, if a place like the MIT Media Lab didn't get excited about it, I wonder who will?

hopefully, the hardware and content people will (and already have). i think things are proceeding perfectly according to plan.
