Glenn, do you have any idea why ML continues to be bearish on Amazon? There isnt any major brokerage out there that doesnt have Amazon on "strong buy" or "buy".. The easy answer is that ML has morals and won't try to sucker the small retail investor into this pyramid scheme, unlike MSDW and the rest.. But how can they do this and still get IPO business? It would be like you telling DeBeers CEO that "your diamonds are overpriced products that would be commodities if it werent for your ruthless monopolistic and intimidation practices" and then hoping he'd give you a really good selection of gems at the yearly london meeting.. (Held in london because the US refuses to let DeBeers incorporate in the US- they consider their business practices illegal) Isn't ML biting the hand that feeds them? If I were an internet maven trying to dump my worthless shares onto the public, I would want the firm who has a track record of hyping net stocks to the moon and ignoring all fundamentals..
