Without the inventory write down creaf would have exceeded expectations by quite margin, about 4-5 cents more at least. I get the feeling Sim's priority is always to look forward, if any baggage can impede future performance, he will cut it off (like the way they write off immediately all in-process R&D after an acquisition). This time round they could have possibly just carried the inventory at the same value on the their books but they wrote it down, still meeting consensus. Very conservative, I like!!

I still think the target price is at least US$22, cos that's the price the guys at SEI were paid for their company. It's just 10% higher than Gerard Klauer's, so not too way off I suppose.
