Here's one view commenting on Sun's tools strategy- infoworld.com

Here's one company that seems to be filling that void- livesoftware.com

For the right price, I'd actually like to see that acquisition for Inprise...

With regards to Inprise's Linux strategy- I'd like to think they even though they haven't said much, they have *some* kind of strategy in place- unless Microsoft threatened them to stay out of that market... :)

If Bill Gates was roundly criticized for the lack of Internet strategy back in '94-'95, then Del should be criticized for the lack of Linux strategy. Here is a chance to recapture the #1 spot in development tools and we haven't heard anything.

One of the surveys showed that Delphi is the #1 wish-list item for Linux users.

Del, if you're listening: Forget the shares buy-back. Put the money to port Delphi to Linux instead. Not only will you turn this company around in a hurry, you'll also make history.
