TChai: Delphi is very solidly wired to the Windows API. This might be seen as a shortcoming (can't easily port to another platform), but IMO this is a strong point -- the tight linkage to Windows API, controls etc is the reason that Delphi builds apps that look and feel better than VB Apps, and as good as C++ apps with far less cognitive burden for developers. (... and of course feel better than Java apps generally do so far...)

One can imagine a Delphi-like product for Linux, but it's not going to be a "port". A more likely scenario would be JBuilder for Linux.

My 2c.
