I agree, Dave, but the answer is not to go short all the time.

Join these greedy bastards and go long with them on up days.

Then, use your gains to short the pig on down days.

You will make much more money than them. The pig will go nowhere, or rise up very slowly relative to the rest of the market.

As the FED releases more dollars onto the market, these momos will soon realize that their money would have served them much better in a 4% brokerage account.

You know what they say, don't fight the tape. :)

Boil the frog slowly.

Regards,

-- Eric

Gosh there's finally some good (read interesting) posts re Yahoo valuation.

How much are tulips worth? If I have to plant bulbs that wont produce for two or three years are tulips worth $10.00, $100.00 $10,000.00? who knows. You really cant predict how over extended they can become and in fairness, Yahoo has more inherent value than tulips, but then again how quickly can a new web site catch on if it is hot and gives you more of what you want?

Bottom line, these valuations ridiculous but no one knows how much higher they could go.

You did not take into consideration the fact that YHOO is perceived to be an exceptionally well run company due to a strong management team. What kind of value do you place on an intangible like superior management? Just a thought!

<For those thinking about buying Yahoo, a couple of questions>

YHOO is a typical momentum stock. The momentum is obvious right now. Look at the chart, it will break out and reach a new high. It is not that risky to buy YHOO if you can place a stop order when you buy it. I will place a stop @ 126 if I buy YHOO right now.
