RE: Purim and Esther

Esther is really a great hero for modern Jews, and the book is a roadmap to power and prestige. Esther is absolutely remorseless and vengeful. Hanging Haman is great, but hanging his ten sons on the same gallows anticipates genocide (where are the Agagites or Amelekites today?). There is no mention or reference to JHVH or any weakling reliance on prayer. These Jews (like modern Israelis) kill their enemies for themselves and the results are wonderful. Love that gal!

Nancy,

If that is how you and your family feel, I can certainly respect that. I jut dont think that people should try and dictate to others, that they should stop celebrating in their own fashion.

I also dont think that every holiday needs to be about God. It is okay to hae many that arent, such as thanksgiving.
