gc - one word for why I am still bullish in this stock (long term):
"nimble".

Although, I have had my faith severely tested and shaken in the last
few months by the stock performance and management's apparent misleading of the stockholders, I still believe in this company

Item 1: I checked my notes on the conference call, and they said nothing of projected growth rates specifically for '99 and beyond. So I have forgiven them somewhat on this point. But this is water under the bridge. Looking forward..

Item 2: I use the PeopleSoft toolset every day, I am very familiar
with the architecture, and both are excellent. I have implemented
custom applications with the toolset extremely quickly. It is both
robust and easy to use. At times I worry it will render folks like me who make their living in this fashion (programmer/analyst types) totally obsolete. I fully understand how PeopleSoft penetrated so many different industry spaces so quickly. It's the toolset and the architecture (and some key acquisitions of course).

Item 3: Management has vision. They know how to leverage what they
have. I am quite pleased with the direction the company is heading
with its new business initiatives. (Yes, I believe the announcements made today will have major import on the company we will see tomorrow and in the next 5-10 years). In my book, the system architects book, these are major new initiatives. I still think this company could become the Microsoft of the business applications world in the next
ten years, and and there will be a Microsoft of the business applications world in the next ten years.

Item 4: Finally, I know people who work at PeopleSoft and they are of the highest quality, and they love to work there, and they have faith in the management. I have been involved in PeopleSoft implementations and the service has been of the highest quality.

In summation: a superior product, quality people who love their jobs and are loyal to their company, visionary management, great service.

These for me add up to a company that still has a very promising future. The stock price will follow.

These are my reasons for being bullish on the stock. What are
your reasons for being bearish?
