I just noticed something that's bothering me...

I use both Yahoo and DLJ for my portfolio and news tracking. Whenever a company in my portfolio is mentioned in a PR or news story, the headline is listed along with my portfolio, and the ticker symbols of the mentioned companies appear with the headline.

I have both BNEZ and AOL listed in my portfolios. That means that both the BNEZ and AOL symbols should have appeared along with the headline... right? Wrong! I noticed that ONLY the BNEZ ticker symbol appeared along with the PR about the court ruling. I believe this is because, while AOL was mentioned in the article, its ticker information (e.g., NYSE:AOL) was not.

This means that all the zillions of people who have AOL (and not BNEZ) in their portfolios will NOT have the PR presented to them along with their portfolios. Further, AOL followers who get notices sent to them whenever AOL is mentioned in an article will also have no knowledge of this news. And you can bet that every news source has its finger on the pulse of AOL and about zero follow BNEZ.

IMO, this is a big blunder by the BNEZ PR machine as they wasted a golden, hand-delivered opportunity to get exposure to a vast number of people.

It also severely reduces, I believe, the likelihood that this will get picked up by any bigger financial news engines.

So this sucks. Does anyone out there have other news sources that show this PR associated with both BNEZ and AOL, not just with BNEZ?

Thanks,

MXB
