I think alot of this WAS short covering. The move looks like an emotionally driven move because of the sharpness in direction and relentless activity. Much the way fear drives corrections in bull mkts (sharp, fast and relentless in their march downward) fear of losing profits is driving short sellers to cover in panic an dgiving us the same type move but in reverse... sharp, painful, quick, but just like a correction in a bull.... he who holds his short for the L-T comes out the best (G) -Lucretius
