As soon as i can liquidate the majority of my positions, i will transfer everything out of Scotia, and go ANYWHERE else. And yes, Chief, i will be the first (after you) to sign on with a competitor.I am also reluctant now because my daytrading course starts in 2 months.

Contact Nancy Bowley by phone 1-800-661-1955. She is the one in charge of the order takers (has been for a long time and was the last time I called). I have been with them for two years and I have noticed that they have only about 6 or so traders that you speak to on a regular basis. I wait on hold for about 30 to 45 seconds about 50% of the time. They could use a couple more, because a lot can happen in 45 seconds! When I do get through, I get excellent service and have never had a problem with excecution of a trade. Most times, I see the trade pop up on my MD within 5 to 15 seconds, which is fine (ASE seems to be slowest). Rarely have I reached a person that is unable to handle my trades (ie having to be transferred to a trader), but I don't trade in the $40k+ range that might require a supervisor to confirm (don't even know if the level is $40k).

Nancy has always been receptive to my calls and is interested in making sure her customers are happy. If I have any questions regarding how the markets work (ie pre-opening bids etc) they find someone who can answer my questions ASAP.

Good bunch. Just wish you didn't have to have a credit card and ScotiaCard to access internet trading. Only complaint!
