"Infoseek (SEEK) said its international strategy is to gain market share in leading and growing markets by partnering with premier media companies in individual markets."

..premier media companies--like that strategy--disney without the real estate, etc,

Infoseek Corp. said Tuesday it entered into a joint-venture agreement with Deutsche Telekom (DT), Axel Springer Verlag, and Verlagsgruppe Georg von Holtzbrinck to launch Infoseek Germany. It is expected to launch in the second quarter next year, providing search, navigation and content services. The four companies will manage the new venture and will share profits generated by the new Internet site. Deutsche Telekom's Internet service, T-Online, has 2.6 million members and a 60 percent market share, an Infoseek statement said. Axel Springer Verlag's diverse media group includes numerous daily publications that reach an estimated 50 percent of the German population.
