Hi Dave,

I attended a Symposium today and one of the key speakers was Don Tapscott; his topic was 'Growing up Digital', which is the title of his latest book. He talked a little bit about bandwidth; he made the analogy of the bandwidth going from say 6' wide today to a mile wide. I am not sure I follow, but it sounds like huge growth there.

He said something else that I thought was interesting; he said that in about 10 years time, phone companies will not be able to charge for long distance.

I think I could see why: my guess is worldwide, low cost, multi-media communication through the PC, for the masses.

As well, it seems like cable will be the big winner of the battle between cable and phone lines, mainly because speed, at the right price, always wins; I can see it's starting to happen - some people I know are willing to pay twice as much for cable right now ($40 instead of $20 per month).

Thanks for the links; lots of good info there.

Regards, Jack
