Andrea gets new pact with Intel

Message 6290225

Andrea (AND) is the closest thing to a direct competitor to NCTI that
I know of. Going through the AND thread there was note of pacts with
IBM as well. Are the two providing >different< technologies to IBM
and Intel, or is it likely that the NTCI and AND are competing for
inclusion in IBM and INTC's products (voice recognition, microphones,
voice over the Internet).

In some ways AND seems a stabler play on the headphone + noice
cancellation + internet audio than NCTI. AND has operations in
defense electrontics. NCTI has operations in consumer electronics
(particularly the flat panel speakers and car audio). Can anyone
provide a better evaluation of the two companies in terms
of competiting product areas, corporate reliability (there was
implication that Andrea's shares outstanding was pretty hefty), and
future?

I'm currently an NCTI shareholder, but I'm trying to get an idea of
whether Andrea is useful as a benchmark of sorts to compare NCTI
against. Andrea popped to the $13 range (albeit on the Intel news)
and NCTI languishes at 50 cents. Comments?
