Robert,
Humor very important in everyones life.

Let's keep this Silicon Investor and not turn it into the Silicon humor forum.
Any serious guesses where it will open tomorrow ????
Robert :-)

It doesn't hurt to have some humor with our serious chat. Helps ease the pain g

Dorine

"Now if there were bad news I don't think he would come on the tube."

I don't think anyone thinks there will be 'bad' news. But will there be news enough to justify the recent run up. Or was the ENRON contract the news we were all waiting for. That's my fear -- and that's why I sold. Clearly, there's no takeover. TLAB's CEO all but said so. Where will CIEN open? Assuming all else is equal (no problems over night), Nettles CNBC appearance should be a boon. So I tend to think there won't be a gap down. Too often, however, I have seen selling into CNBC 'rallies.' So unless we get some good news tomorrow, or the market turns back up strongly, I think CIEN will be heading down. BWDIK, I lost a couple of points today thinking CIEN would gap up.

I don't believe it's worth something in the middle (between 19 and 90), except maybe the middle teens. Today's drop is because it's being artificially propped up at $20 by takeover rumours that are not (as yet) founded on reality. The new contracts are probably worth a buck or two in stock value, add to taht the 2-4 it was oversold (starting from 12)and you get the 15-18 range. My serious guess is it opens up and retreats to 16.

Have to agree with Dorinne and Gabor, we need the humor to keep things in perspective. Or at least I do. Now, if you want to get REALLY annoyed, spend some time lurking on the Yahoo Ciena board. It is a circus.
As for tomorrow's open, I'm no Einstein, but I'll take a wild guess and pick $18.50, and then up or down on the news. Brilliant, huh!
Although I am long, I wouldn't mind a little deeper dip (like to 16 or so) so I can pick up a few more shares cheap and reduce my average cost. Longer term it looks like mostly upside to me.
