What I mostly get out of this is that the US is still fighting for sanctions with the Goal of weakening Iraq by keeping Saddam in a box.

<<Iraq's relations with its neighbors are improving, he noted. Turkey, through which many goods are smuggled in and out of Iraq, has reinstituted full diplomatic relations. Syria and Egypt are talking with the six Persian Gulf states about new economic initiatives with Iraq. And Saudi Arabia, which was so threatened by Iraq during the gulf war that it served as a military base for the allied front against Hussein, recently restarted commercial relations. >>

As I've stated many times this strategy of targeting innocent villagers accomplishes nothing toward the military goal of deposing Saddam Hussein, if that is even the goal. It martyrs the Iraqi people and ralleys support for them from around the world. It will very likely result in bringing diranged terrorists inside the US borders. The US is loosing prestige among its traditional allies and those we have been romancing recently.

What we are sponsoring is genocide of an innocent group to put the squeeze on the real culprit. We are loosing the support and confidence of the nations of the World as a nation that stands for truth, justice, and freedom for all. As a country that has had super power all of this time, have we become to egotistical to see ourselves through the eyes of others?

If so, are you willing to support this stand alone policy of mass murder.
