What monopoly power does Office have?

Because it is illegal for a monopoly to use its power to threaten other companies.

Apple is not dependent on Office97, likewise MSFT does not have a monopoly in the office suite business (hard as they may try...) so the monopoly power and essential facilities arguments don't seem to apply. Would the same arguments apply to MSFT's decision not to support PowerPC on NT? So far, at least, MSFT's ability to discontinue a product line has not come up for federal review, except in the case of apple. This is a very unfortunate line of discussion for the DOJ with broad negative implications if the precedent is set.
