TigerPaw, CPQ is not going anywhere...They lost their momentum around 1 1/2 years ago when they got big ideas and bought DEC...They lost their focus on PCs, and now they are trying to be Jack of All Trades and master of none...Besides, they are not above putting out misleading information...at the right strategic time, in their minds...They are running scared - for good reason...CPQ will not be number 1 for long!!

I own xxxxx shares of DELL. This post below worries me about as much as NSCP taking over the software mkt from MSFT. Just another joke.
I would say CPQ is older (as in past their prime) , wiser (as in like a 6 pk of BUD WISER) & bigger (as in fat and slow like the old IBM). DELL sells computers to all of us because its COOL to own a DELL. If you want to ride a Harley, buy a Harley. LOL

Dell be the same???

news.com.

Dell's not changing, a lot of bearish types have been saying that Compaq's new
initative will end Dell's advantages, and since Compaq is older, wiser, and bigger
Dell will fade into history.
