One of the saddest calls I heard was the one who had $140,000 worth of a stock mutual fund in September, sold near the low, and then thought her broker must have done something wrong because her account only had $120,000 in it after that. Wanted to know if she could "ask for an audit". She seemed totally unaware that her actions have real consequences. Of course, she wanted to know if she should get back in after the market had gone up 10% or so.
