(BSNS WIRE) Franklin Expands with Development Facility in Arizona;
Scottsdale Office to Spearhead Product Development

Business & Technology Editors

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 3, 1998--Franklin
Telecom (OTC BB:FTEL) Tuesday announced that it has opened a new
product development facility in Scottsdale, Ariz.
The new facility is housing the development team assigned to the
Voice Router Internet Telephone System, Franklin's Next Generation
Internet Telephony customer premise access solution.
Frank Peters, Franklin Telecom founder and CEO commented: "We
need to attract engineers with Computer Telephony, PBX and Key System
experience to augment our expertise in LAN/WAN networking. The greater Phoenix area, and specifically the Scottsdale Technology Airpark, has become a major center for telecommunications equipment manufacturing.

"This advantage, coupled with the ever-increasing cost of living
in Southern California, made the Scottsdale office a logical
decision," he concluded.

John Saltwick, who has recently been named Vice-President of
Engineering, heads the new center. Saltwick, with more than 18 years
of experience in both hardware and software design, came to Franklin
from Xantel Corp. where he had served as vice-president of both
engineering and product development. Saltwick holds four patents in
the area of telecommunications and voice processing.
In addition to engineering, the Scottsdale office will also
include sales and marketing personnel.
Peters noted: "The rapid growth of FNet, our Next Generation
Telephone subsidiary company, is congesting our Westlake Village
headquarters. In the last year and a half, we've expanded into two
additional buildings and we're still running out of room. We already
have sales representatives working in various areas around the
country. The Scottsdale facility will be a secondary hub for sales."
The primary business of Franklin Telecom, founded in 1981, is the
design and manufacturing of communications devices, high speed LAN,
WAN, Telco and Satellite Systems and software. Franklin has an
installed base of more than 100,000 nodes worldwide. Franklin's
Internet subsidiary FNet provides VoIP global Telco services.
