Well, I'm not sure they said it was winning. They expect 50% of the market by 2001, but that still leaves 50% for SCSI and other options, even if they make their forecasts. The only competitive advantage they named was the distance issue, and I though SCSI 3 addressed that? (Techies, any help here?) Also, the cost difference remains significant. Also, can FC use the same network wires that big institutions have in place, or do they have to rewire their systems to switch from SCSI to FC?

I'm certainly not complacent about Adaptec, but I'm not convinced the game is over yet.
