For the first time, it's acting as if it is a real stock and not just something we made up on this board. The volume increase is good even if it allowed the weak holders to get out. With stronger buyers in, this should base and hopefully take off as the deal takes place.

Here are my concerns (and possible reasons for the low stock price):

1) This deal hasn't closed yet, and no definite date has yet been set for the vote. The prelim. proxy says November __, 1998--but it is now November 5th. Is it reasonable to expect that these materials can be finalized, mailed, and returned before the end of November? If this is not the case, there's no immediate need for worry--we have until the end of the calendar year to close the deal if necessary.

2) Tanner's is not yet profitable! Many of us, myself included, eagerly awaited the financial statements from Tanner's to confirm what we had heard about the company's profitability. It's no surprise that the share price is still down, because they don't project profitability until June 1999. You can choose to believe that or not, but I'd say that this is a difficult time for restaurant stocks in general--(somehow, many expansion plans call to mind the Boston Market story...)

I was glad to see that there was some buying interest yesterday, and I do hope that the shares that were sold have been transferred to stronger hands.

Again, I'm holding my shares because I believe in Clyde Culp's ability to successfully grow a restaurant chain.
Tanner's has projected system-wide sales of $17,000,000 for 1998. With that kind of revenue, I'd say that the share price should get a boost when the deal closes. As for the projections for next year, caution is the word. You never know what could happen. The chain WILL grow because Harvest has the money from the 6MM investor--but we are still in the early stages of the game.
