Sun Tzu,
Point of Education. I understand (I think I do) Bollinger bands are formed by adding volume to price movements. Can you give me a more price formula for constructing them, so I can have a better appreciation of them. Or, tell me a good book or article to read about it.
TIA.

Dan Dwyer

Sun,

What parameters are you using for Bollinger's Bands. I show we closed 17% above the upper band indicating chances of a higher move based on the strength of the trend using linear regression and r-squared value. Bollinger recommends parameters of 20 for time periods, 2 deviations and simple method for moving average. In addition, continuation up is probable because we closed outside the bands with a steep trend. The band widths are narrow implying less volatility. We could get a slight pullback but all in all the chart looks healthy as long as the market holds up.
