At least a joint venture with $Bill beats a buy out by Ericy, no? :-) Since I owned MSFT for quite a while - from mid 80s to mid90s, am familiar with MSFT's modus operandi. Tough and aggressive. Not an innovator but a superb management and marketing operation IMO. Does indeed compliment the Q - in fact a mirror image - again just IMO. This could be the best possible news for the Q since its founding - seems like the focus is right on. The MSFT savy, resources and "aura" huge pluses. And data is the future for both wireless and wire. This is a most timely move by the Q. Do have a sense of unease re the "clutches" of MSFT but the Q's managemnet has come a long way through minefields and do not expect them to be caught napping. Q management deserves confidence in their ability to pull off this joint venture (a good choice for working with MSFT is it not - close but not too close) and the benefits for the Q re Wall Street "respect" and vis a vis Ericy et al should be huge. End rant. Chaz

" Am I the only one who is extremely interested in how qdog (former frequent poster on this thread, and total pro-Qualcomm, anti-Microsoft activist) is taking this recent news???"

I'd also be fascinated- aren't his friends still on this board?

Also- although CE is commonly thought to be clunky, perhaps Q! could streamline it, as they ARE Q!uite innovative... and then bam; somewhere down the line... another spinoff to investors!

DWB: About the only thing which would elicit a louder snarl with accompanying ankle bite would be Q crawling in bed with the silk suited, tassled loafered ...........or perhaps PSU losses to both Michigan and Wisconsin. I expect some big time snarling come Nov 21.

Yes Ramsey, I'm still lurking. Seems to me I still owe you dinner.
