Would still like to hear [...] why visual writer is so good, and can compete with Microsoft, Adobe, etc.

My understanding of Microsoft is that all forms of database processing software they sell requires some form of programming knowledge. Access, SQL Server, and database apps made with Visual Basic and Visual C++ all benefit a company tremendously by allowing a company to hold and process their particular data to any degree they want (how many widgets did we sell?, who did we sell them to?, now to input a new customer, etc.).

The charm of Visual Writer is that it is supposed to handle these kinds of needs, too, but not require programming knowledge (i.e, you don't need to hire a database guru, or front-end programmer). As Pacel puts it, if you know how to use Word, you'll be able to use Visual Writer.

Most of what I know about Visual Writer comes from the Pacel web page and a man from Baltimore Gas & Electric who uses the product. I'm going to try to see a demo of the software myself someday.

Hope that helps,
Chris
