PACEL CORPORATION ú Ticker Symbol: PLRP ú Exchange: OTC Bulletin Board ú Approx. Shares Outstanding: 20 million ú Approx. Shares in the Public Float: 1.8 million ú 1997 Revenues: $50,000 ú 1998 Expected Revenues: $2,800,000 ú 1999 Expected Revenues: $4,900,000 ú 2000 Expected Revenues: $11,200,000 What first drew me to the company was its thin trading. PLRP has been public for just over a month, and has virtually not been trading. (Check a stock chart, try www.bigcharts.com for example). There are only three market makers that make a market in their stock. I realized that any good news or interest could move the stock upwards very rapidly. When I first found out about PLRP today, I did some cursory searching. I couldn't turn up a SI thread, I couldn't locate any past news releases, and nothing else of that nature. However, I was able to get in touch with Dave Calkins, Pacel's CEO. He made some information on the company available to me. *Pacel Corp is an operating company with an actual product. This is not a developmental stage company. They are a software company, with a very exciting (and on the shelves) product called "Visual Writer." In short, this software program allows interactive electronic documents to be created without any programming knowledge. The program is currently geared towards the environmental, nuclear, and aerospace industries. I admit I am no expert in the software industry, but take a look at some of Pacel's current clients: NASA Loudon County Sheriff's Department Manassas City Police Department Instrumentation Technology Associates, Inc. Baltimore Gas & Electric Carolina Power & Light New York Power Authority Reynolds Metal Corporation Texas Utilities & Electric United Engineers & Contractors As I said, I may not be a software expert. . . but if NASA has bought Pacel's software for use in the Columbia Space Program, Pacel must really have something going! Pacel also has several other products in the works which will soon add to their revenues. I've also become aware of news that Pacel is pursuing an acquisition of an existing hardware/imaging company, located in Virginia. Word has it that a letter-of-intent has already been signed. In addition, Pacel has been in negotiations for financing. Initial financing for immediate working capital should be finalized shortly. Also, a public offering is planned for early next year: the company hopes to have the stock price in the $5-6 range at the time of the offering! Word has it that a major PR firm is gearing up to become involved with Pacel. But even if no promotion occurs, Pacel appears to be an extremely exciting little company. I expect that any buying will send Pacel up very quickly. As I mentioned, only three market makers are currently involved with the stock. Here is their line-up: OTC Bulletin Board PLRP Best Bid/Ask... 0.313 0.438 0 x 0 Bid Ask Bid x Ask Date Time Telephone# Indicators ________ ________ ___________ ________ ________ __________ __________ HILL 0.250 0.438 50 x 50 09/03/98 14:39:52 8006313083 NATL 0.313 0.500 50 x 50 09/03/98 14:38:02 PGON 0.063 0.750 50 x 25 09/02/98 09:37:50 8005218877 The lack of market makers indicates that the stock could be very volatile with any volume. I suggest caution if you decide to purchase Pacel. Market orders before the open are not recommended. Instead, if an order must be placed before the open. . . use a limit order. Orders placed before the open give the market makers a clue as to what is going on, and they may raise the price accordingly. It would be better to catch them by surprise. For further Due Diligence, I strongly recommend you review the website at www.pacel.com. It contains a lot of information that I may not have touched on. Also, CEO Dave Calkins will welcome your questions at 703-257-4759. | ||||||||||||||
