Message 6295940 I know you think it showed great wit and believe that it was over the heads of most of us, who, by implication, you believe should not be trading stocks at all. The complaints are seen by others who can benefit from hearing about some of the problems at Datek. Thus, they can opt for the services of this broker with due notice of caveat emptor. These boards are here for many reasons. One of them is to allow people to voice their dissatisfaction. You don't have to like it - you don't even have to read it. Mark Davis, complaining here on SI is useful. The main reason is that many potential customers read this thread before opening an account. Datek knows this, and thus monitors the thread. Although Datek has stopped posting, we know they're reading. They cringe when they see a board full of complaints because they know that will drive off future business. That motivates them to fix the problems that cause the loudest public complaints.
